Anotácia výstupu s kontextovými informáciami týkajúcimi sa opisu tvorivého procesu a obsahu tvorivej činnosti a pod. / Annotation of the output with contextual information concerning the description of creative process and the content of the research/other activity, etc.	Účelom brlohových skúšok je posúdiť vrodenú schopnosť a pripravenosť jazvečíkov a teriérov na prácu v prirodzených norách s cieľom znížiť početnosť líšok. Na Slovensku boli vyhodnotené medzinárodné skúšky v brlohárení v období rokov 2009–2018, na ktorých sa zúčastnilo 1812 psov, z toho teriéry predstavovali 61,36 % a jazvečíky 38,64 %. V závislosti od spôsobu práce psy týchto plemien pracujú ako šktrič, hlásič alebo vyháňač. Skúšobné poriadky boli porovnávané z hľadiska ochrany zvierat, princípov etiky a požiadaviek na welfare v krajinách Vyšehradskej štvorky. Skúmali sme, do akej miery sú zvieratá na skúškach (líšky a psy) vystavené utrpeniu v sledovaných krajinách. Počas brlohárskych skúšok na Slovensku dochádza k priamemu fyzickému kontaktu medzi psom a líškou, kedy sú líšky zbytočne vystavované nadmernému stresu, zraneniam a bolestiam, čím dochádza k narušeniu ich welfare. Z dôvodu nedodržiavania welfare navrhujeme zmenu v pravidlách skúšobného poriadku pre skúšky v brlohárení. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The purpose of den trials is to assess innate ability and preparedness of dachshunds and terriers to work in natural beds in order to control fox numbers. International earthdog trials within the period 2009–2018 were evaluated in Slovakia, in which 1812 dogs participated, of which terriers represented 61.36% and dachshunds 38.64%. Depending on the way of work, dogs of these breeds work as bayer, bolter or hard dog. The test rules were compared in terms of animal protection, principles of ethics and welfare requirements in the Visegrad countries. We investigated the extent to which animals used in trials (foxes and dogs) are exposed to suffering in the countries under review. During the den trials in Slovakia, there is a direct physical contact between the dog and the fox, where the foxes are unnecessarily exposed to excessive stress, injury and pain and violated by Five Animal Welfare Needs (formerly Five Freedoms), in particular the need to protect against pain, injury and disease. Due to non-compliance with the welfare, we propose a change in the examination rules in the earthdog work in Slovakia. Non-parametric Chi square statistic to analyse group differences when the dependent variable is measured at nominal level was used.

Anotácia výstupu s kontextovými informáciami týkajúcimi sa opisu tvorivého procesu a obsahu tvorivej činnosti a pod. / Annotation of the output with contextual information concerning the description of creative process and the content of the research/other activity, etc.	Cieľom práce bolo porovnať vybrané disciplíny skúšok poľovných psov a zhodnotili sme dodržiavanie etických zásad na Slovensku a v Českej republike. Zamerali sme sa na vybrané disciplíny zo skúšok duričov, na brlohárske skúšky, špeciálne skúšky z vodnej práce a hlavné individuálne skúšky farbiarov. Počas skúšok v brlohárení na Slovensku pes je v priamom fyzickom kontakte s líškou, zatiaľ čo v Českej republike prebiehajú skúšky bez priameho fyzidkého kontaktu psa s líškou. Porovnali sme disciplínu odvaha v diviačom oplôtku, kde sú pes a diviak v priamom kontakte na Slovensku a v Českej republike k priamemu kontaktu medzi zvieratami nedochádza. Navyše na Slovensku je súčasťou špeciálnych skúšok z vodnej práce a na skúškch retrívrov z prinášania malej zveri aj disciplína stopa zveri na vode. V tejto disciplíne kačica nemôže lietať, pretože sa používa s upravenými letkami na jednom krídle. /
OCA16. Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The aim of the work was to compare selected disciplines of hunting dogs involved in the field trial competition and to evaluate compliance with ethical principles in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. We focused on selected trials of hounds, den trials, special trials in water and the individual trials of scent hounds, too. During the den trials in Slovakia, the dog comes into a direct physical contact with a fox, whereas trials take place without a direct contact between the dog and the fox in the Czech Republic. We compared the discipline of courage in a wild boar enclosure, where the dog and the wild boar are in a direct contact in Slovakia and there is not a direct contact between animals in the Czech Republic. Ethical principles are not respected during these disciplines in Slovakia. Moreover, in Slovakia, a part of special trials in water discipline and trials of bringing a small game by retrievers is a discipline called a duck´s scent on water surface. In this discipline, a duck cannot fly, because it is released with one flight feather modified. In the Czech Republic, this discipline is not a part of the trials as ethical principles are not respected. We also compared the individual trials of scent hounds, which take place on deliberately shot even-toed ungulates. In order to comply with ethical principles and welfare, we propose changes in examination rules of above mentioned disciplines in Slovakia.

Anotácia výstupu s kontextovými informáciami týkajúcimi sa opisu tvorivého procesu a obsahu tvorivej činnosti a pod. / Annotation of the output with contextual information concerning the description of creative process and the content of the research/other activity, etc.	Majitelia, resp. držitelia psov, ktorí majú svoje psy pustené na voľno by si mali uvedomiť, že majú aj povinnosť zabezpečiť opatrenia na zabránenie úteku psa (§ 22 ods. 6 zákona o veterinárnej starostlivosti). V zákone č. 274/2009 Z. z. o poľovníctve a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov, v § 24, ods. 3 sa v poľovnom revíri zakazuje voľný pohyb psa vo vzdialenosti väčšej ako 50 m od osoby. Zákon sa nevzťahuje na služobných psov používaných podľa osobitných predpisov a poľovníckych psov pri výcviku a výkone poľovníctva. Podľa § 29 ods. 1, člen poľovníckej stráže je pri plnení úloh podľa tohto zákona oprávnený usmrtiť v poľovnom revíri voľne sa pohybujúceho psa vo vzdialenosti väčšej ako 200 m od najbližšej pozemnej stavby, to sa nevzťahuje na poľovníckeho psa a na psa, ktorý má nasadený obojok alebo prsný postroj, pričom tieto musia byť vo výraznej farbe odlišnej od farby jeho srsti. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Owners of the dogs, who have their dogs released should be aware that they are also obliged to provide measures to prevent the dog from escaping (Section 22 (6) of the Veterinary Care Act). In Act no. 274/2009 Coll. on hunting and on the amendment of certain laws, in § 24, par. 3, the free movement of the dog at a distance greater than 50 meters from the person is prohibited in the hunting area. The law does not apply to service dogs used according to special regulations and hunting dogs in training and hunting. According to § 29 par. 1, a member of the hunting guard is entitled to kill a free-moving dog in the hunting ground at a distance of more than 200 m from the nearest building when performing tasks under this Act, this does not apply to a hunting dog and a dog wearing a collar or chest harness, these must be in a distinct color different from the color of his coat.

Anotácia výstupu s kontextovými informáciami týkajúcimi sa opisu tvorivého procesu a obsahu tvorivej činnosti a pod. / Annotation of the output with contextual information concerning the description of creative process and the content of the research/other activity, etc.	Porovnali sme dodržiavanie etických zásad vo vybraných disciplínach skúšok poľovných psov na Slovensku a v Českej republike. Zamerali sme sa na skúšky duričov, skúšky v brlohárení, na špeciálne skúšky z vodnej práce a individuálne skúšky farbiarov. Na skúškach v brlohárení na Slovensku je priamy kontakt medzi líška a psom zatiaľ, čo v Českej republike sú tieto skúšky bezkontaktné. Pri disciplíne „odvaha v diviačom oplôtku“ je na Slovensku diviak so psom v priamom kontakte zatiaľ, čo v Českej republike nie sú v priamom kontakte. Súčasťou špeciálnych skúšok vodnej práce a skúšok retríverov z prinášania malej zveri na Slovensku je disciplína „stopa (kačky) zveri na vode“. Kačka je vypustená na vodu s upravenou letkou tak, aby nemohla lietať. Táto disciplína nie je súčasťou skúšok v Českej republike. Taktiež sme porovnali individuálne skúšky farbiarov, ktoré prebiehajú aj na zámerne postrieľanej raticovej zveri. Z dôvodu dodržiavania etických zásad a welfare navrhujeme zmeny v skúšobnom poriadku uvedených disciplín na Slovensku. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		We compared selected disciplines of hunting dogs and evaluated an adherence to the ethical principles during those tests in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. We focused on selected trials of hounds, den trials,, special trials in water and the individual trials of scent hounds. There is a direct contact between the fox and the dog during den trials in Slovakia, whereas den trials are contactless in the Czech Republic. In case of the discipline of courage in a wild boar enclosure, the dog and the wild boar are in a direct contact while those animals are not in direct contact in the Czech Republic. In a discipline during which retrievers bring a small game from the water (the discipline called a duck´s scent on water surface a duck is released with one flight feather modified so that it cannot fly. This discipline is not a part of the trials in the Czech Republic. We also compared the individual trials of scent hounds, which take place on deliberately shot even-toed ungulates. Based on the course of above mention disciplines in Slovakia, we can state that the ethical principles as well as welfare of animals used in the tests are not observed, so we propose changes to the examination rules of the disciplines in Slovakia.

Práca vyháňača 21,89 % a práca hlásiča 18,11 %. Najväčšie zastúpenie z teriérov malo plemeno jagdteriéra 42,25 %, border teriér 26,38 %, welš teriér 10,52 %, foxteriér hladkosrstý 8,45 %, foxteriér hrubosrstý 5,80 %, paterdalle teriér 4,67 %, parson a jack russell teriér 1,80 %, lakeland teriér 0,13 %. Vyhodnotili sme spôsoby práce podľa plemien teriérov a zistili sme, že jedince plemena foxteriér hrubosrstý pracovali väčšinou ako hlášiče 84-krát (65,12 %), ostatné teriéry pracovali najmä ako škrtiče. /

The work of the bolters was detected in 21.89% of cases and the work of the hard dogs in 18.11%. The most frequent was used the breed Jagdterrier 42.25%, Border Terrier 26.38%, Welsh Terrier 10.52%, Fox Terrier 8.45%, Fox Terrier 5.80%, Paterdalle Terrier 4.67%, Parson and Jack russell terrier 1.80%, lakeland terrier 0.13%. We evaluated the ways of working according to terrier breeds and found that individuals of the rough-haired fox terrier breed worked mostly as bolters 84 times (65.12%), other terriers worked mainly as bayers.

Účinky jedov z najrozšírenejšieho afrického jedovatého druhu Bitis arietens a blízkeho príbuzného druhu Bitis parviocula sme testovali pomocou The Hen's Egg Test-Chorioallantoic membrane test (HET-CAM) a Chicken embryotoxicity screening test (CHEST), analýzy acetylcholínesterázy (AChE), testu cytotoxicity vykonaného na bunkových líniách a analýzy proteínov vybraných jedov. Naše výsledky ukázali, že jed B. parviocula obsahuje vazoaktívne zlúčeniny, ktoré majú priamy účinok na cievy. Analýza AChE ukázala významnú schopnosť inhibovať aktivitu AChE v embryonálnom tkanive. Cytotoxicita pozorovaná na bunkách A549 ATCC® CCL-185™ naznačuje možnú prítomnosť cytotoxických látok v jede B. parviocula. Pomocou elektroforézy a celkovej koncentrácie bielkovín sme dokázali skôr opísané rozdiely v zložení jedu získaného z B. arietans a B. parviocula. Na základe podobností vo vazoaktívnych účinkoch pozorovaných po podaní jedov na kuraciu chorioalantoickú membránu predpokladáme, že jedy B. arietans a B. parviocula môžu mať spoločné niektoré jedové proteíny zodpovedné za hemotoxicitu. Hlavné aktívne zložky jedu B. parviocula nie sú známe. Naše výsledky naznačujú, že by bolo vhodné vykonať proteomickú analýzu jedu B. parviocula, pretože by mohol obsahovať medicínsky cenné zlúčeniny. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The Ethiopian endemic snake of the species Bitis parviocula, recognized for its colorful patterns, might be more interesting as we look deeper into the venom activity. We assayed the effects of venoms from the most widespread venomous African Bitis arietens and closely related species Bitis parviocula using The Hen’s Egg Test—Chorioallantoic membrane test (HET-CAM) and Chicken embryotoxicity screening test (CHEST), acetylcholinesterase (AChE) analysis, cytotoxicity assay performed on cell lines and protein analysis of selected venoms. Our results indicated that B. parviocula venom contains vasoactive compounds that have a direct effect on blood vessels. The AChE analysis showed significant ability inhibiting AChE activity in embryonic tissue. Cytotoxicity observed on A549 ATCC® CCL-185™ cells indicates the possible presence of cytotoxic agents in B. parviocula venom. We proved previously described differences in the composition of venom obtained from B. arietans and B. parviocula by using electrophoresis and total protein concentration. Based on similarities in vasoactive effects observed after administration of venoms onto a chicken chorioallantoic membrane, we suggest that venom from B. arietans and B. parviocula might share certain venom proteins responsible for haemotoxicity. The main active components of B. parviocula venom are unknown. Our results suggest that it might be worth performing proteomic analysis of B. parviocula venom as it might contain medically valuable compounds.

Vo viac ako 90 % analyzovaných vzoriek tkanív (pečeň, srdce, krk) sa 5 dní po podaní jedu B. parviocula na membrana papyracea vyvíjajúcich sa kuracích embryí pozorovala inhibícia acetylcholínesterázy, čo naznačuje prítomnosť zložiek jedu, ktoré ovplyvňujú neurotransmisiu. Protinádorová aktivita súvisí najmä s antiproliferačnou aktivitou hadích jedov; je však potrebné testovať účinky jednotlivých zložiek jedu na normálne aj nádorové bunky. Oba testované jedy rodu Bitis vykazovali významné rozdiely v počte a kvalite frakcií. Dôrazne odporúčame, aby sa v ďalšom kroku výskumu vykonala podrobná proteomická analýza s cieľom identifikovať a izolovať zlúčeniny zodpovedné za hemotoxické, neurotoxické a cytotoxické účinky pozorované v našej práci. To by mohlo zabezpečiť objavenie nových sľubných látok s veľkou medicínskou hodnotou. /

Celkovo 336 vtákov bolo zaradených do siedmich liečebných postupov v úplne randomizovanom dizajne od 30. do 90. dňa veku. Vykonali sa kŕmne úpravy, jedna bez akéhokoľvek prídavku EW a VH, druhá mala štandardnú dávku VH 0,8 %, zatiaľ čo sa dodával rozsah prídavkov EW od 0 %, 0,5 %, 1 %, 1,5 %, 2 % a 2,5 %. Vplyv ošetrení na telesnú hmotnosť a mortalitu nebol významný (p > ,05). Najvyšší príjem krmiva bol pozorovaný u vtákov kŕmených diétami s prídavkom 1 % a 1,5 % EW (p < ,05). Najvyšší titer protilátok proti vírusu chrípky a ovčím červeným krvinkám patril k ošetreniam EW a VH (p < ,05). Titer protilátok proti vakcíne proti vírusu pseudomoru hydiny nebol ovplyvnený ošetrením. Vo všeobecnosti mali vtáky dostávajúce EW a VH najvyššiu hmotnosť vajec, produkciu vajec a hmotnosť vaječnej hmoty (p < ,05). /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The present study is aimed to evaluate the effects of different levels of earthworm (EW) powder and vermihumus (VH) on the growth performance, humoral immunity response, plasma constituents and reproductive performance of Japanese breeder quails. A total of 336 birds were assigned to seven treatments in a completely randomized design from day 30 to 90 of age. The dietary treatments were carried out, one without any addition of EW and VH, the second had a standard rate of VH at 0.8%, while a range of EW additions was supplied from 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%. The effects of treatments on body weight and mortality were not significant (p > .05). The highest feed intake was observed in birds fed the diets supplemented with 1% and 1.5% EW (p < .05). The highest titre of antibodies against influenza virus and sheep red blood cells belonged to the EW and VH treatments (p < .05). The antibody titre against Newcastle disease virus vaccine was not affected by the treatments. In general, the birds receiving EW and VH had the highest egg weight, egg production and egg mass weight (p < .05).

Na druhej strane prídavok rôznych množstiev EW môže buď zosilniť, alebo potlačiť účinky VH v závislosti od percentuálneho podielu EW pridaného do krmiva. Najlepšie rastové a reprodukčné parametre prepelice chovateľské mali pri 1 % a 1,5 % EW v prášku, zatiaľ čo 2 % a 2,5 % vykazovali pozitívny účinok na bunkovú imunitu. Pri skrmovaní takýchto vysokých koncentrácií EW prášku je potrebné vziať do úvahy negatívny vplyv na reprodukčnú výkonnosť chovných prepelíc. /

Cieľom tejto štúdie bolo preskúmať vplyv metabolického stavu matky na reakciu vaječníkov myší na environmentálne kontaminanty benzén a xylén, ako aj na výťažky z liečivej rastliny juky. Vaječníky izolované z normálne chudých a mierne obéznych myší boli 24 hodín kultivované s 0,1 % benzénom alebo xylénom alebo bez nich. Podobne boli vaječníky izolované z normálne chudých, mierne obéznych a výrazne obéznych myší 24 hodín kultivované s extraktom z Yucca shidigera (YS, 10 μ g/ml) alebo bez neho. Zistili sme, že metabolický stav nemal vplyv na uvoľňovanie bazálneho progesterónu (P4), testosterónu (T) alebo inzulínu podobného rastového faktora I (IGF-I), ale obezita ovplyvnila účinky kontaminantov životného prostredia a YS. Benzén znížil produkciu P4 vo vaječníkoch obéznych, ale nie normálne štíhlych myší; znížil aj uvoľňovanie IGF-I (ale nie T) z vaječníkov bez ohľadu na metabolický stav. Xylén dramaticky zvýšil uvoľňovanie P4 a T (ale nie IGF-I) vaječníkmi myší s normálnou chudosťou, ale u obéznych myší nedošlo k žiadnym zmenám v P4 a len k malému zvýšeniu produkcie T. YS zvýšil uvoľňovanie P4 (ale nie T alebo IGF-I) vo vaječníkoch normálne chudých a mierne obéznych zvierat, zatiaľ čo výrazná obezita bola spojená s nedostatočnou reakciou P4 na YS. Obezita môže ovplyvniť bazálne uvoľňovanie T alebo IGF-I z vaječníkov a zvyšuje citlivosť vaječníkov na pôsobenie benzénu, ale znižuje ich reakciu na xylén a YS. /
OCA16. Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Environmental contaminants and medicinal plants can affect reproductive processes. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of maternal metabolic status on the response of mouse ovaries to the environmental contaminants benzene and xylene, as well as to extracts of the medicinal plant yucca. Ovaries isolated from normal-lean and slightly obese mice were cultured with or without 0.1% benzene or xylene for 24 h. Similarly, ovaries isolated from normal-lean, slightly obese, and significantly obese mice were cultured for 24 h with or without an extract of Yucca shidigera (YS, 10 μ g/mL). We found that the metabolic status did not influence the release of basal progesterone (P4), testosterone (T), or insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I), but obesity influenced the effects of the environmental contaminants and YS. Benzene reduced P4 output in ovaries from obese but not normal-lean mice; it also reduced IGF-I (but not T) release from ovaries irrespective of the metabolic status. Xylene dramatically increased P4 and T (but not IGF-I) release by ovaries from normal-lean mice, but there were no changes in P4 and only small increases in T output in obese mice. YS increased P4 (but not T or IGF-I) release in normal-lean and slightly obese animal ovaries, whilst significant obesity was associated with a lack of P4 response to YS. Obesity might affect the basal ovarian release of T or IGF-I and increases the sensitivity of ovaries to the action of benzene but decreases their responsiveness to xylene and YS.

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Hormonal treatment during the non-breeding season is effective at precise synchronization of oestrus for fixed time insemination with the ability to increase ovulation rate in ewes. Three methods of assisted oestrus in Vallachian ewes were studied during the non-breeding season – group A: control, groups B, C: application of 20 mg flugestone acetate impregnated intravaginal sponges for 12 days + 1000 IU/500 IU equine chorionic gonadotrophin, respectively, on day of sponge withdrawal, group D/ovsynch protocol (day –9: lecirelinum 0.0125 mg/head, day –3: cloprostenolum 0.0375 mg/head, day -1: lecirelinum 0.0125 mg/head), n=6 for each. Laparotomy was carried out on ewes of all groups 24 h after the last treatment. Ovaries were collected, measured, and their volume was calculated, surface follicles were counted and measured, too. Blood was collected on the last day of treatment and on the day of laparotomy and progesterone (P4), oestradiol-17ß (E2), and insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) concentrations were analyzed in blood serums. E2 concentrations were significantly higher on day of laparotomy in groups A and C. P4 and IGF-I concentrations did not vary between or among groups.

V posledný deň liečby a v deň laparotómie sa odobrala krv a progesterón (P4), estradiol-17ß (E2) a koncentrácie inzulínu podobného rastového faktora I (IGF-I) sa analyzovali v krvnom sére. E2 boli v deň laparotómie signifikantne vyššie v skupinách A a C. Koncentrácie P4 a IGF-I sa nezmenili. Nelíšili medzi jednotlivými skupinami ani medzi nimi. /

Cieľom práce bolo analyzovať stav folikulov po pôrode u nelaktujúcich oviec. Laparotómia s následnou ovariektómiou bola vykonaná po odstavení jahniat (na jar) na 17., 24. a 32. deň po pôrode. Vaječníky boli analyzované ultrasonograficky použitím 5,0 MHz lineárnej sondy a 7,5 MHz konvexnej sondy. Údaje o folikuloch získané analyzovaním ultrasonogramov boli vyhodnotené kvantitatívne a kvalitatívne. Vaječníky boli odobraté na konci laparotómie a fixované v 100.000000ormalíne. Rezy tkanív vaječníkov boli ofarbené hematoxilínom a eozínom a farbením podľa Azana. Histologické preparáty boli študované mikroskopicky a analyzované programom LUCIA-G verzia 4.71. Rozdiely vo veľkostiach vaječníkov neboli štatisticky signifikantné. Počet folikulov < 3 mm monitorovaných USG na 32. deň bol zvýšený na rozdiel od 17. dňa postpartálneho obdobia. Analýza obrazu rezov vaječníkov ukázala signifikantný nárast celkového počtu folikulov (P < 0.05) a folikulov ≥ 3 mm (P < 0.001). Stupeň atrézie vykazoval 82% na 17. deň a 89% na 32. deň post partum. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The time of the first ovulation depends on the sheep breed, feeding conditions, year season, length of lamb nursing and following galactopoiesis. The objective of the present study was to analyse the follicle status after parturition in non-lactating Improved Valachian ewes. Laparotomy with following ovariectomy was performed after lamb weaning (spring) on days 17, 24 and 32 after parturition. The ovaries were USG analysed with 5.0 MHz linear and 7.5 MHz convex transducer. Follicular data were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The ovaries were collected at the end of laparotomy and fixed in 100.000000ormalin. The sections of the ovarian tissue were stained with haematoxylin and eosin and Azan staining. Ovarian slides were microscopically studied and analysed by LUCIA-G ver. 4.71. The differences in the ovary size were not significant. The number of follicles < 3 mm monitored by USG on day 32 was higher than that on day 17 after parturition.

Priemerná veľkosť ľavých vaječníkov bola v 32. deň menšia ako v 24. deň a väčšia ako v 17. deň. Rozdiely neboli významné. Pomocou laparotomického USG monitorovania (obr. 2) sme pozorovali signifikantne vyšší počet folikulov < 3 mm na 32. deň (P < 0,05, 61 % folikulov pre nábor) v porovnaní so 17. dňom (37 % folikulov pre nábor) po pôrode. Ostatné rozdielne počty folikulov neboli významné. Meranie priemeru folikulov (obr. 4) neodhalilo žiadne významné rozdiely medzi nasledujúcimi dňami, ale v dňoch 17 až 32 bol menší. Na 17. deň sme zaznamenali 67 % bežných ovulácií, na 24. deň 75 % s 50 % dvojitých ovulácií a na 32. deň po pôrode 33 % s polovičným výskytom dvojitých ovulácií. /

Anotácia výstupu s kontextovými informáciami týkajúcimi sa opisu tvorivého procesu a obsahu tvorivej činnosti a pod. / Annotation of the output with contextual information concerning the description of creative process and the content of the research/other activity, etc.	Poranenie miechy (SCI) zahŕňa poškodenie nervov a často vedie k motorickým, senzorickým a autonómnym dysfunkciám. V tejto štúdii sme navrhli klinický protokol na posúdenie uskutočniteľnosti systémového podávania alogénneho mezenchýmového kmeňového média z tkaniva kostnej drene psov (BMMSC CM) psom s SCI. Štyri psy vo vlastníctve klienta s chronickým SCI trvajúcim viac ako šesť mesiacov podstúpili pred zaradením do tejto štúdie neurologické a klinické hodnotenie, zobrazenie MRI a krvné testy. Všetky psy dostali štyri intravenózne infúzie alogénneho BMMSC CM pre psov v priebehu jedného mesiaca. Medzi jednotlivými infúziami dostávali psy komplexnú fyzioterapiu, ktorá pokračovala ďalšie tri mesiace. Počas jedného, troch a šiestich mesiacov sledovania neboli pozorované žiadne nežiaduce účinky ani komplikácie. Chemický panel krvi ani hematologický profil nevykazovali žiadne významné zmeny. Po jednom, troch a šiestich mesiacoch liečby BMMSC CM došlo u všetkých psov ku klinickému zlepšeniu, ktoré sa hodnotilo pomocou Olbyho lokomočnej stupnice. Okrem toho goniometrické merania odhalili čiastočné zlepšenie rozsahu pohybu v kĺboch. Funkcia močového mechúra sa zlepšila u dvoch postihnutých psov. Dospeli sme k záveru, že viacnásobné podávanie alogénneho bunkového kondicionovaného média psom s chronickým SCI je uskutočniteľné a v kombinácii s fyzioterapiou môže byť klinicky prospešné. /
OCA16. Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Spinal cord injury (SCI) involves nerve damage and often leads to motor, sensory and autonomic dysfunctions. In the present study, we have designed a clinical protocol to assess the feasibility of systemic delivery of allogenic canine bone marrow tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium (BMMSC CM) to dogs with SCI. Four client-owned dogs with chronic SCI lasting more than six months underwent neurological and clinical evaluation, MRI imaging and blood tests before being enrolled in this study. All dogs received four intravenous infusions with canine allogenic BMMSC CM within one month. Between the infusions the dogs received comprehensive physiotherapy, which continued for three additional months. No adverse effects or complications were observed during the one, three and six months follow-up periods. Neither blood chemistry panel nor hematology profile showed any significant changes.

Hlavným cieľom našej štúdie bolo preto poskytnúť komplexnú štúdiu mezenchýmových kmeňových buniek pochádzajúcich z kostnej drene psov (BMMSC) a kondicionovaných médií izolovaných zo zdravých dospelých psov rôznych plemien. Na základe presne definovaných štandardizovaných izolačných protokolov sa doplnila multipotentná diferenciácia a špecifické povrchové markery BMMSC, ich génová expresia, proteomický profil a ich biologická funkcia. Prezentované údaje potvrdzujú, že psie BMMSC exprimujú gény dôležité pre diferenciáciu smerom k osteo-, chondro- a tendogénnym smerom, ale aj gény spojené s angiogénnymi, neurotrofickými a imunomodulačnými vlastnosťami. Okrem toho sme pomocou profilovania proteómu po prvýkrát identifikovali dynamické uvoľňovanie rôznych bioaktívnych molekúl, ako sú transkripčné a translačné faktory a osteogénne, rastové, angiogénne a neurotrofické faktory z kondicionovaného média BMMSC psov. Dôležité je, že príslušné gény boli prepojené s ich proteínmi zistenými v kondicionovanom médiu a ďalej spojené s angiogénnou aktivitou v teste s chorioalantoickou membránou (CAM). Týmto spôsobom sme preukázali, že psie BMMSC uvoľňujú rôzne bioaktívne molekuly, čím sa odhalila silná parakrinná zložka, ktorá môže mať terapeutický potenciál pri rôznych patologických stavoch. /
OCA16. Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Adult stem cells have become prominent candidates for treating various diseases in veterinary practice. The main goal of our study was therefore to provide a comprehensive study of canine bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSC) and conditioned media, isolated from healthy adult dogs of different breeds. Under well-defined standardized isolation protocols, the multipotent differentiation and specific surface markers of BMMSC were supplemented with their gene expression, proteomic profile, and their biological function. The presented data confirm that canine BMMSC express important genes for differentiation toward osteo-, chondro-, and tendo-genic directions, but also genes associated with angiogenic, neurotrophic, and immunomodulatory properties.

Tieto zmeny v konečnom dôsledku vedú k zhoršeniu pamäťových funkcií a schopnosti učiť sa, k zmene sociálnej interakcie, k zhoršeniu normálneho chovu a k zmenám cyklu spánok-bdenie a celkovej aktivity. Klinicky sme vyšetrili 215 psov, z ktorých 28 bolo podrobených pitve. Pri mozgoch psov sme vykonali rozsiahlu analýzu patologických abnormalít charakteristických pre ľudskú Alzheimerovu chorobu a frontotemporálnu lobárnu degeneráciu vrátane β-amyloidných senilných plakov, tau neurofibrilárnych spletí a inklúzií zrastených v sarkóme (FUS) a TAR DNA-viažuceho proteínu 43 (TDP43). Väčšina dementných psov vykazovala senilné plaky, hlavne vo frontálnej a temporálnej kôre. Neurofibrilárne inklúzie Tau sa našli len u jedného psa. Boli identifikované pomocou protilátok používaných na detekciu tau neurofibrilárnych lézií v ľudskom mozgu. Inklúzie boli pozitívne aj na farbenie Gallyasovým striebrom. Rovnako ako u ľudí boli distribuované najmä v entorhinálnej kôre, hipokampe a temporálnej kôre. Na druhej strane agregáty FUS a TDP43 neboli prítomné v žiadnej zo skúmaných vzoriek mozgu. Zistili sme tiež, že CDS sa vyznačuje prítomnosťou reaktívnych a senescentných mikrogliálnych buniek vo frontálnej kôre. /
OCA16. Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		Canine cognitive impairment syndrome (CDS) represents a group of symptoms related to the aging of the canine brain. These changes ultimately lead to a decline of memory function and learning abilities, alteration of social interaction, impairment of normal housetraining, and changes in sleep-wake cycle and general activity. We have clinically examined 215 dogs, 28 of which underwent autopsy. With canine brains, we performed extensive analysis of pathological abnormalities characteristic of human Alzheimer\'s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration, including β-amyloid senile plaques, tau neurofibrillary tangles, and fused in sarcoma (FUS) and TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP43) inclusions. Most demented dogs displayed senile plaques, mainly in the frontal and temporal cortex. Tau neurofibrillary inclusions were found in only one dog. They were identified with antibodies used to detect tau neurofibrillary lesions in the human brain.

Identifikácia rizikových faktorov, ktoré môžu ovplyvniť vznik kognitívneho zhoršenia, je čoraz dôležitejšia. V tejto práci sme zisťovali, či vek, pohlavie, hmotnosť, výživa, ustajnenie a reprodukčný stav psov súvisia so zvýšeným rizikom syndrómu kognitívnej dysfunkcie psov (CCDS) na Slovensku. Vek bol spojený s kognitívnym poklesom a výživa sa ukázala ako významná prediktívna premenná. Psy kŕmené kontrolovanou stravou mali 2,8-krát nižšiu pravdepodobnosť vzniku CCDS v porovnaní so psami kŕmenými nekontrolovanou stravou. Pohlavie, hmotnosť, reprodukčný stav a ustajnenie psov neboli významne spojené s kognitívnym poklesom. Ďalej bola prevalencia CCDS podobná u malých aj stredne veľkých/veľkých psov vo veku 8 - 11 rokov, ale líšila sa u psov vo veku 11 - 13 rokov. Zistilo sa, že vek je najvýznamnejším rizikovým faktorom CCDS. Výživa môže ovplyvňovať kognitívny stav psov. Toto zistenie naznačuje, že nutričné intervencie môžu modifikovať kognitívne funkcie psov. /

Identifying risk factors, which may influence the onset of cognitive decline, is becoming increasingly important. Here we investigated whether age, sex, weight, nutrition, dogs’ housing and reproductive state were associated with increased risk of canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CCDS) in Slovakia.

Mnohé z komerčne používaných kmeňov neboli testované na psoch a sú zaradené len na základe priaznivých účinkov pozorovaných u ľudí so špecifickými poruchami. Okrem toho nie sú k dispozícii žiadne informácie o účinkoch kmeňov produkujúcich bakteriocíny u psov. Preto sme sa rozhodli otestovať a porovnať celkový účinok bakteriocín neprodukujúceho kmeňa Enterococcus faecium DSM 32820 a enterocín B produkujúceho kmeňa E. faecium LMG 30881 (oba psieho pôvodu). Psy boli rozdelené do troch liečebných skupín po desať psov: kontrolná skupina; skupina DSM 32820; a skupina LMG 30881, dávkovanie 109 CFU/deň/pes. Experiment trval 35 dní so 14-dňovým obdobím liečby (odber vzoriek v dňoch 0, 7, 14, 35). Napriek tomu, že sa predpokladá produkcia bakteriocínu, ktorá môže poskytovať konkurenčnú výhodu oproti susedným citlivým kmeňom v rámci spoločného prostredia, výsledky naznačili o niečo lepšie prežívanie pre skupinu DSM 32820 v porovnaní so skupinou LMG 30881. Okrem toho mali psy zo skupiny DSM 32820 optimálnu konzistenciu trusu počas celého experimentu, výrazne stimulovanú fagocytárnu aktivitu (7. a 14. deň) a aktivitu metabolického výbuchu leukocytov (14. a 35. deň) a nižšiu koncentráciu glukózy v sére (35. deň). /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		The current effort to incorporate microbial cultures in canine nutrition and thus intake of them on daily base increases our interest in careful and more complex study of their effects in dogs. Many of the commercially used strains have not been tested in dogs and are incorporated only on the base of beneficial effects observed in humans with specific disorders. Moreover, no information on the effects of bacteriocin-producing strains in dogs is available. Therefore, we decided to test and to compare overall effect of bacteriocin non-producing Enterococcus faecium DSM 32820 and enterocin B-producing E. faecium LMG 30881 strain (both of canine origin). Dogs were divided into three treatment groups of ten dogs each: control; DSM 32820 group; and LMG 30881 group, dosing 109 CFU/day/dog. The experiment lasted 35 days with a 14-day treatment period (sample collection at days 0, 7, 14, 35).

Táto neinvazívna metóda monitorovania sa použila na určenie, či odber krvi, ktorý sa považuje za invazívny, je pre kone stresujúcejší ako odber slín. V našej štúdii sme nezistili žiadny významný rozdiel v prejavoch súvisiacich so stresom medzi odberom slín a odberom krvi. V oboch prípadoch sa pri odbere vzoriek (krvi aj slín) znížil počet úplných a polovičných mihnutí očí. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		To assess stress in horses, a method of monitoring eye blinks (full and half) and eyelid twitches while collecting saliva and blood samples before and after annual intensive police training was carried out. This noninvasive monitoring method was used to determine whether blood collection, which is considered invasive, is more stressful for horses than saliva collection. We discovered no significant difference in stress related manifestations between saliva sampling and blood collection in our study. In both cases, sampling (blood and saliva) reduced the number of full and half eye blinks. Based on our hypothesis, we expected a statistically significant changes in the number of eye blinks and eyelid twitches as the number of potential stressors increased (in our case, we considered police training and sampling). Saliva cortisol levels, on the other hand, revealed that police training for horses was not stressful. The method of measuring eye blinks and eyelid twitches appears to be an appropriate alternative method for monitoring stress factors in horses.

Na druhej strane hladiny kortizolu v slinách odhalili, že policajný výcvik pre kone nebol stresujúci. Metóda merania žmurkania očí a zášklbov očných viečok sa javí ako vhodná alternatívna metóda na monitorovanie stresových faktorov u koní. /

Systém VHS je založený na meraní veľkosti srdca, ktorá sa porovnáva s hrudnými stavcami a udáva sa pomocou vertebrálnej jednotky (v). Cieľom práce bolo porovnať tri spôsoby merania metódou VHS a zhodnotiť hrubú aplikáciu metód VHS nešpecializovaným rádiológom (začínajúci docent UVLF, študent 2. ročníka UVLF a špecialista rádiológ). Podľa štatistickej interpretácie (jednosmerná Anova, Tukey) troch spôsobov merania VHS rozdiely medzi nimi neboli štatisticky významné (p>0,05). Z výsledkov vyplýva, že všetky tri spôsoby merania VHS sú rovnocenné, ale najpresnejší bol VHS3. Porovnanie výsledkov troch hodnotiteľov rôznych zručností v oblasti rádiológie ukazuje, že tieto metódy sú univerzálne použiteľné a nezávislé od praktických skúseností hodnotiteľa. Meracia metóda VHS by mala byť rutinnou súčasťou vyšetrení kardiologických pacientov, pretože ide o jednoduchú metódu merania a interpretácie. Pri opakovaných vyšetreniach sú presné údaje ľahko použiteľné pri hodnotení priebehu ochorenia. /

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		It is possible to determine the heart size on X-ray by estimation according to experience or to the number of intercostal space, or alternatively by measuring method, VHS (Vertebral Heart Score). VHS system is based on measuring the heart size, which is compared to the thoracic vertebras and it is given by vertebral unit (v). The target of the work was to compare three ways of measuring VHS methods and to evaluate the gross application of VHS methods by non-specialized radiologist (new associate UVLF, 2nd year student UVLF and a radiology specialist). According to the statistical interpretation (single-way Anova, Tukey) of the three ways of VHS measurement, the differences between them were not statistically significant (p>0.05). The results show, that all three ways of the VHS methods are equivalent but the most precise was VHS3. Comparing the results of the three evaluators of different skills in the field of radiology shows, that these methods are universally applicable and independent on practical experiences of the evaluator. The measuring VHS method should be the routine part of the examinations of cardiologic patients, because it is a simple measuring and interpretation method. In repeated examinations the exact data are easily applicable in the evaluation of the course of the disease.

Anotácia výstupu v anglickom jazyku / Annotation of the output in English		On the basis of legislative provisions and the behavioral needs of dogs, the authors describe the potential consequences and negative impacts of the long-term tethering of dogs. Dogs should be kept under conditions that allow them, with respect to their size, temperament, stage of their development, and degree of adaptation, to maintain good health and meet their physiological, ethological, and social needs. Despite the adoption of new legislative provisions, this issue has not yet been resolved and we are still coming across various cases involving cruelty to animals of various character and intensity. The current situation can be changed by adopting legislative regulations that explicitly define the responsibilities of owners/keepers including a ban on the tethering of dogs in order to prevent potential circumvention of the legislative rules.

On the other hand, there are certain concerns about when and how long a dog can be tethered. On the one hand, the owner has a responsibility to keep the animal from escaping; on the other hand, he must adhere to a legal requirement that the dog not be tethered.

V takýchto koncepciách to znamená, že zviera môže mať charakter len ako subjekt práva. V prípade podľudských druhov to neprichádza do úvahy, pretože zviera sa z právneho hľadiska považuje za vec. To nevylučuje, že zviera ako špecifická vec musí požívať osobitnú ochranu. Zviera nemôže prevziať plnú moc, pretože právne spôsobilý môže byť len človek. In such conceptions it means that the animal may have character only as the subject of law. This is out of question in case of subhuman species, because the animal is considered as a thing from the legal point. It does not exclude that the animal as a specific thing must receive peculiar protection. The animal cannot take over proxy, because only a person can be legally competent. Contrary to the subject of law, the animal may be sold off, as well as presented, put in safekeeping, pawned and may be euthanized when specify expressly.
