Výsledky naznačujú, že všetky testované izoláty R1-R6 by mali dobré rastové vlastnosti v akvakultúre pstruha dúhového. Výsledky niekoľkých existujúcich klinických skúšok probiotík sú nepresvedčivé a zároveň protichodné. Viacerí autori opísali pozitívne preventívne alebo terapeutické účinky probiotík pri rôznych ochoreniach lososovitých rýb. Iné správy však nezistili žiadne alebo významné účinky probiotických mikroorganizmov na zdravotný stav vodných živočíchov. Z doterajších vedeckých štúdií vyplýva, že používanie probiotík je najúčinnejšie počas vývoja mikrobioty v raných štádiách života rýb alebo pri narušení stability mikrobioty. Rozporuplné výsledky medzi probiotickými štúdiami môžu byť spôsobené mnohými faktormi, ako je výber kandidátov na probiotiká, prežívanie a stabilita probiotík, druhová špecifickosť kmeňa vo vzťahu k hostiteľovi, dávkovanie, frekvencia a spôsob podávania probiotík, zdravotný a výživový stav rýb, druh a vek rýb, interakcie s liekmi alebo mikrobiotou, stres a celková organizácia pokusov. / The results indicate that all tested isolates R1–R6 would have good growth properties in rainbow trout aquaculture. Results from several existing probiotic clinical trials are both in- conclusive and conflicting. Several authors have described positive preventive or therapeutic effects of probiotics in various diseases of salmonids. However, other reports have not detected any, or significant, effects of probiotic microorganisms on the health status of aquatic animals. The scientific studies to date have shown that the use of probiotics are most effective during development of microbiota in the early life stages of fish, or when the stability of microbiota is disturbed. The conflicting results between probiotic studies could be due to many factors, such as selection of probiotic candidates, survival and stability of probiotics, species specificity of the strain in relation to the host, dosage, frequency and mode of administration of probiotics, health and nutritional status of fish, fish species and age, interactions with drugs or microbiota, stress, and general organization of experiments. | |

An effective probiotic must comply with criteria, which determines its effect. The aim of this work was to isolate lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from the intestinal content of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), subsequently potentially used as probiotics in order to improve health status of fish during fish farming. Selection criteria were used to obtain suitable probiotic candidates for aquaculture of salmonid. A total of 6 lactic acid bacteria isolated from intestines of rainbow trout belonging to the genus Lactobacillus were included in this study, and encompassed the following species: L. plantarum (n = 3), L. fermentum (n = 2), and L. brevis (n = 1). Antimicrobial susceptibility test has been performed on the basis of Guidance on the assessment of bacterial susceptibility to antimicrobials of human and veterinary importance by the EFSA. Sensitivity or intrinsic resistance of the isolated LAB to a recommended set of antibiotics make them safe for use as probiotics in aquaculture. All six autochthonous isolates showed the antagonistic activity against both salmonid pathogens Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida CCM 1307 and Yersinia ruckeri CCM 6093. Determined in vitro survival conditions in the gastrointestinal tract of rainbow trout, and taking into account the previous results, two isolates - Lactobacillus plantarum (R2) and Lactobacillus fermentum (R3), which showed the highest level of tolerance to different pH values, bile, temperature, and the best growth properties, were selected as candidates for probiotics. | |

At the same time, it addresses the possibilities of using probiotics in the nutrition of farmed salmonids. The outputs of the article concerning the feed production for aquaculture will be used in teaching the subject Legislation requirements for feed and food production. |
