Anotation
The importance of coagulase-negative staphylococci (KNS) in the etiology of ruminant mastitis is growing worldwide. In recent years, KNS in many farms in Slovakia are isolated from the milk of mastitis-affected ruminants more often than S. aureus, resp. pathogenic species of Streptococcus spp .. he solution of the project is focused on determining the frequency of coagulase-negative staphylococci in cow's milk, their identification and taxonomic determination of species, finding out the occurrence of KNS species producing staphylococcal enterotoxins (SE), resp. their gene delivery (seg) for SE production. KNS virulence factors will be evaluated in terms of their importance in diagnosis, especially in species isolated from clinical forms of ruminant mastitis.
